Background/IRC Summary: Since its inception in 1933, the International Rescue Committee (IRC) has been a global leader in emergency response and providing durable solutions for conflict- and crisis-affected populations. IRC launched its Pakistan program in 1980, and currently is present in 4 provinces and territories including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Province and the newly Merged Districts of KP – Ex Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA).
a) Education Requirements: Master’s degree in social science, development studies, gender, or a related field is required.
b) Work Experience Requirements: At least seven years of work experience in technical implementation of women’s empowerment and /or gender integration activities in development programs.
· Experience in behavioral change communication is desired, particularly in areas such as reducing gender-based violence and engaging communities in addressing issues related to women’s participation in civic engagement or issues that restrict women’s ability to access resources and opportunities. Experience working in developing countries, particularly Asia region.
· Previous work experience in the context of Pakistan and specifically the focused areas of the call i.e. KP and Newly Merged Districts – ex FATA, as well as familiarity with local language and culture are highly desirable.
c) Skills & Competencies: Strong interpersonal and communications skills required.
· Fluent in English and Urdu languages (both writing and speaking).
· An in-depth understanding of the national / provincial laws particularly related to women, harassment at workplace, labor laws, and rights particularly women/girls etc.
